This is just an adorable way to say thank you to someone that saved your life!
When Hayden Hatfield Ryals got a call that a baby girl with cancer was a match for her bone marrow, Ryals knew she had to save her. Now, years later, the little girl thanked her donor in a special way by serving as her flower girl at her wedding.
Ryals signed up to be a donor while in college in 2015, but didn’t think she would be a match with someone. “It’s the easiest thing,” Ryals told the Dothan Eagle. “It’s a cheek swab — swab your cheek, put it in an envelope and they send it
Doctors gave this 3-year-old a 10% chance to live. Stricken with childhood cancer, Skye Savren-McCormick needed a bone marrow transplant to survive. She got one, from a stranger – Hayden Hatfield Ryals, who later invited Skye to be the flower girl. Now Skye is in remission. “There wasn’t a dry eye in the room,” said wedding photographer Jeannie Broadway. “You could even hear sobs from people.” (📸: Mark Broadway Photography)
