Hello Wedding Digest, I just read a write up from a lady that is 30 years old and still a virgin. I don’t know why people find it hard to believe when a lady says so, reading through people’s comments seriously, it baffles me with their sense of reasoning.
My point here is that I am 30years old too and I can proudly say that I am a virgin too…*smiles*. I have four younger sisters and we all are virgins and by God’s grace it ends in our husband’s house. Is not that I have not done something funny, I have, on several occasions and when it comes down to that, I stood my ground and say no.
The first guy I wanted to give it to, told me to go and look for someone else and then come back to him, that was before I got I admission into the Uni. And all through my stay in the University, I did not have a boy friend and so, when I graduated, the same guy that wanted me to go and meet someone else wanted to deflower me, I took to my heels immediately. All my life is in Enugu; in 2011 when I came down to Lagos for my NYSC, I almost lost it to armed robbers that wanted to rape me when I was coming back from work, Wednesday 20th April, 2011 at about 8pm inside Iba Estate Ojo,. Those guys beat the living day out of me, torn my cloths but I couldn’t allow them to take my pride. They used the blunt part of machete to hit my laps and arms “spread your legs” as I was fighting them, they held my neck to strangle me, the other guy said “let’s kill this girl and leave this place since she did not allow us” I have never been close to my God as I was that night, all my cries was God ” why me” at some point I had to change my praying method to “Jesus, come and help” by then, they had removed my pant. With my eyes closed waiting for them to have their way, Jesus actually came to save me because they heard some noise and immediately, they carried my handbag and jumped the fence over to Ipaye road. All the while I was lying down on the floor, I was asking God if it is wrong for me to keep myself all these years to loose it to rapist (3 guys). I sustained serious injuries, the machete hitting at my back (when I wanted to run initially), at my arms (when I was pulling my skirt down as they were pulling it) and at my laps (when I folded my legs). It took almost a year to heal. Even after that incident, I have had series of robbery incident at Iba that made me to relocate in my best interest. This is how far one can go to protect what you cherish so much. I’m in a serious relationship now and I told my guy that I still want to keep my virginity till our wedding night. We understand each other and we will wait until the D-day.
Well, this is my story. I guess that’s there are still millions and millions of girls that are still virgins, but they are hard to find. It takes the grace of God and a good man with a good eye to decipher.
