How We Met
I met my wonderful Eloho through a mutual friend in Jan 2012. I got her contact information from my friend after seeing her picture on her Blackberry messenger wishing her happy birthday. I saw that smile and knew that I had to meet this girl. I got her contact information from my friend with the intent to call but was nervous so did not reach out till the next day. At first I was nervous to call so I sent her a text message introducing myself and how I got her information. At first she tried to sound surprised but I later found out she knew I was going to contact her. Our conversations were interesting and the more I got to know about her the more intrigued I became. I liked that she was God fearing, ambitious, family oriented and most importantly felt like she became my friend instantly. After a few days I summed up the courage to call her on phone and our first phone conversation is one that I will not forget. I remember the sweet and gentle voice , we talked for about 5 hours late into the night as if we were old friends who had known each other for a lifetime. A month after we started communicating, we decided to meet and I flew out to SF to visit and I have to admit it was love at first sight. When I first saw Eloho the first thing I noticed was her smile, I’ve never met someone as happy go lucky as she is. Her inner-child spirit hobo is something to be admired. She sees the good in everyone and everything, and always has a smile on her face. On our first date, I thought I was being a great entertainer as Eloho was constantly smiling and laughing, but I later came to realise this was just who Eloho is. The kind of girl who makes you feel good about yourself no matter how terrible your jokes are. Eloho is my best friend and confidant and one of the best days of my life was when she agreed to marry me. Marriage to me is devoting all your time and effort to make that one special person happy, indulging in the good times and being there for one another through the bad. Eloho is that special person for me and I am so happy and thankful to God that he brought her my way.1 Corinthians 13:13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Ade and I met through a mutual friend. It was my birthday and she had put up a picture of me on her BB profile. Ade saw my picture on her profile and did his due diligence (he liked what he saw…LOL). She asked if she could give him my BB pin, after a second thought I gave it to her. By the time I responded, it was already late. The following day, he sent me a message. Our first conversation started very simple. We talked about San Francisco, which was where I lived at the time. I remember him telling me “San Francisco has one of the largest population of Chinese people”. And I said to myself, “how does he know that?” Well, I was intrigued and wanted to know what else he knew that I didn’t know. We continued talking for several hours that day like an old couple. The next day, I was in my marketing class and we were talking about Airbus and the Boeing Company. Suddenly, I remembered Ade had mentioned that he worked there. So I grabbed my phone and sent him a quick message. I said “well, we’re talking about Boeing in my marketing class”, is there anything you would like to share?” He gave me some pointers and I pretended like I made them up in class. After that day we spoke every single day and we became very good friends. Ade lived in Seattle at the time so we went on our first official date several weeks later. He came to visit me in SF, I remember meeting up with him at the airport. We stayed on the phone talking trying to find each other in the dark. Finally, Ade found me 🙂 He tells this side of the story so much better LOL. After his short visit, Ade asked me to be his girlfriend. At first I tried to give him a hard time but after a few weeks, he asked again. This time I agreed and we started courting. I fell in love with Ade’s kind heart, love for God, calm spirit; sense of humor (funny jokes), intelligence and of course his ever charming smile. Ade always lets me know how much he cares. He’s the perfect man for me…He puts a smile on my face and I cannot wait to be his wife..
Moments before Ade proposed, our day seemed just like any other…Special! Ade does special things all the time so it was really hard envisioning his plans to propose. He said we were due for a date night and we were going to start the evening by going to the Ferris wheel in downtown Seattle. Sometimes we spend our weekends by the waterfront at the park so I didn’t think anything of it. On our way to the Ferris wheel, Ade played our favorite songs in the car and each time our favorite lines came up, he would hold my hand, look into my eyes, and sing it to me – typical ‘Ade behavior’. Being the most adventurous one, I was ready for the thrill. Standing in the windy breeze of Seattle, we waited patiently for our turn. Finally, we entered into our coach and sat across from each other, I tried to capture the moments (being 200ft high) ofcourse but Ade made a joke about me forgetting that I was up in the air. I laughed and then I put my camera away to enjoy this moment with him. Not too long after, the Ferris wheel stopped. Ade jolted almost immediately to the ground. For a moment I thought I may have pushed him so still giggling I said “Babe why are you on the floor? Could you please get up” He looked at me and said, “Babe I love you” and I said, Okkk “I love you too” (looking awkwardly). Then he said “I want to spend the rest of my life with you” and I said Aww, me too but babe people are beginning to stare, could you please get up”? I must have looked away for a second when I noticed him reach into his pocket. Ade looked up and said “Babe, will you marry me?” In sheer surprise I said, “omg! this is an actual proposal?” Now I was too excited to even recall his reaction. I said “YES, I WILL, I WILL MARRY YOU” By now I had a gazillion butterflies in my stomach. I couldnt stop smilling. It was one of the best moments of my life.
