Moyin & Jola’s wedding story is very interesting and quite entertaining. It is clear as a bell that both of them are meant to be together forever. Their undeniable chemistry quickly led to a beautiful friendship that soon blossomed into love sweet love. When Jola proposed, it was a special day and very memorable one to Moyin as she couldnt sleep that night but kept staring at her gorgeous ring! The happy couple described their wedding as nothing short of what they had dreamt of. They wanted to make it official, share their love with family, friends, well-wishers, those that couldn’t believe it and those that were still wishing they could snatch any one of them…..lol. According to Moyin, their joyous wedding was wonderful, fun and the turn-out was overwhelming – despite sharing date with Teebillz and Tiwa. To everyone that came, it was a beautiful wedding but to us, it was the first and least of the rest of our beautiful life together.
How They Met
Okay, we met through a friend of mine at the University. I was looking for an Industrial Attachment job then and i found out my friend was working in a company where my fiancée was his boss, so he gave me Jola’s blackberry pin to follow up with the job search. Unfortunately, Jola stated that they only take Actuarial science/insurance students and graduates. Since there was no use for his contact anymore, i chose to leave him as a contact so as not to be rude by deleting him. Jola would ping once a while to either say i am pretty or he would like to meet me. I never really gave him any attention. What surprised me the most was when i lost almost all my contacts and Jola’s contact was one of the few survivors…lol. I knew there was something to it. So once a while, i would ping him to say ‘hello’. After about 2years i finally agreed to meet him, shortly after my previous relationship ended.
Jola was late to our first date (he blamed it on traffic). I showed him my displease about having to wait for him and he totally ignored my rants and asked for a hug. As simple as it sounds, i was struck. Butterflies in my belly. Afterwards, we started spending alot of time on phone and shortly after, I said YES
Moyin saw my picture on a friend’s dp. She stole my pin and sent me a request. I delayed the request for weeks cos i don’t like strangers adding me up. Then i finally decided to accept her request. She started pinging me and telling how much she liked me. So after 2 years of fronting, I gave in to her pressures. ………lmao. Na play i dey play o…
I got her contact from her school friend for an attaché job. I couldn’t help her job search, so i decided i could help in other ways…lol. So i started helping her appreciate her beauty by telling her how beautiful she is, bla bla bla….Oya na, lets meet…..she would be telling me stories of how Mohamed parted the red sea. So i set a reminder in my brain to be disturbing her at intervals of 2-3months. After 2yrs sha, I called her and she was particularly excited. We were on the phone for a long time. That was when i knew that my hopes were still alive.
We agreed to meet. I kept her waiting….lol. When i got there, she was complaining about how long she had been waiting. Yimu….I let her finish and i gave her puppy eyes and asked for a hug! …..She smiled and she hugged me. Whilst i held her, I couldn’t hear her heartbeat or may be I couldn’t hear mine. I heard only one heart beating…….our hearts were beating in sync. I didn’t tell her anything though, but that marked a turning point in my life
Two days after the 2nd anniversary of our relationship, Jola asked that we grab drinks after work. He wanted to make it up to me for something he had done earlier…lol. We were supposed to meet at DeMarquees, Mega Plaza. It was a Friday night, and my then company also had a team building exercise which I had to attend.
So I had to spend little time at the team building so as to be with Jola. My friend Yetunde, offered to give me a ride, as she claimed she was going that way – Yetunde isn’t that nice…lol! As she dropped me off at Mega Plaza, I asked her to come upstairs and she declined saying she had to quickly see someone around. I met Jola downstairs, and as usual, we hugged and went upstairs together. Whilst seated, I noticed Jola was fidgeting; he got up many times to make phone calls. I was beginning to get jealous and wonder why he wouldn’t just make/receive those calls in my presence.
After sometime, I just saw the same Yetunde that had dropped me off. I thought to myself that may be it was a coincidence. Then I saw Tola my very good friend behind her. Then Jola’s friends started marching in. It became too much of a coincidence and as I was still trying to put it all together, I heard Jola’s voice saying ….’Ever since I met you…..’. OMG! He was on one knee, I couldn’t believe it. What was he saying, what was he doing? I wondered as I covered my face.
Through the spaces in my fingers, I could see everyone around me on their feet, with phones ready to take pictures. I refused to raise my head, I was very shy. Jola was still there, rapping. Then I heard ‘..will you marry me?’ I said YES and I began to cry as he slipped the ring on my finger. I buried my face in his chest whilst I hugged him. My dream became reality!!! I almost didn’t not sleep that night as I kept staring at the ring. It was just a piece of metal, but it made my life complete.
