Beyonce has opened up about her difficult second pregnancy and birth, which resulted in her twins being delivered via emergency caesarean. Beyonce opens up about one of her twins’ hearts stopping during labour.
The singer speaks about Rumi and Sir Carter’s birth in her new Netflix documentary, Homecoming. The film follows Beyonce as she prepares for her record-breaking Coachella appearance last year.
The singer was originally set to headline the American festival in 2017 but had to postpone as she found out she pregnant with twins.
Beyonce says that her body “went through even more than I knew it could” during her pregnancy.
The mother-of-three added that she developed preeclampsia, a condition which causes high blood pressure in pregnant women. The 37-year-old also went through a traumatic experience when one of her twins’ heartbeats paused a few times during labour, which meant that she had to undergo an emergency c-section.
