Their romantic love story…
We met at a social gathering. My first impression of him was he was well dressed. I became friends with his cousin who later told me he knows someone that likes me a lot and that someone happens to be Deoye. One day, I was on the the phone with his cousin, he told me his phone is about to go off and asked me to please call him right back, so he gave me some random number, when I called Deoye picked up and we started talking and I totally forgot I was calling to speak to his cousin lol…that’s where it all started. (FYI his cousin was not even with him) I’m completely blessed to have me in life.
Deoye relocated back home to Nigeria for work in September of 2011. I had to stay back because I still have about a year left to complete my masters degree. While he is in Nigeria, a day doesn’t go by without us talking on the phone or through Skype or FaceTime. One day he told me he will be going to Ghana for a business trip which he has done before. But this time it was a lie, he was coming to America. He made had arrangements with his sister who helped him pulled the biggest surprise to date in my entire life lol. He supposedly left for Ghana on Monday July 2, 2012 and to my understanding a flight from Nigeria to Ghana is less than 2 hours . But I didn’t hear from Deoye for over 12hours and I started to get worried. I spoke to his sister and express my concerns. She covered up really well, saying she spoke to there mom who told her he had spoken to him earlier on one of his colleague’s phone and that Deoye doesn’t have his personal phone but he will call me once he’s well settled. So I tell it go. The next day on Tuesday July 3, 2013, I worked from 7:30am-3:30pm. During this time the sister went to pick him up from the airport and dropped him off at the mall to buy the ring. After I got out of work the sister convinced me to go see a movie and I really wasn’t up for it because I was still worried cause I haven’t heard from Deoye, she somehow guilted me into going. While we were at the movies, Deoye took the taxi home, his sister left him a spare key under the door mat. When we got back home from the movies, still sad and worried. I walked up the stairs to my bedroom just open the door and see Deoye on his knees with the most beautiful ring and my bed was decorated with Rose Pastels saying “will you Marry me” with beautiful lit candles all over the room I was shocked and overly excited and I gladly said YES..lol
So..Beautiful, we wish them a blessed and fruitful marriage
