Chioma and Teju met when they were in Uni and right from the moment Tejuone laid his eyes on Chioma, he knew there is something so special about her. He tried every game to become friends with Chioma and amazingly he played his love game perfectly well. Chioma just couldn’t resist his charming and gentlemanly nature…….The rest they say is history!
How We Met + Beautiful Proposal
We met in Uniben while in year one in 2005. We attended a physics tutorial class and on my way home, I got chatty with his friend who I was familiar with. I didn’t chat with him because I felt he was a snub.
Another tutorial class came and there he was offering to pay my fees and we argued about that but I agreed eventually; from then he continued the chase in subtle ways.
One day in April, he visited my hostel and asked that I become more than a friend to him and that was when we realised his birthday is April 19th while mine is April 20th. So I decided to give it a shot irrespective of the tribal differences and considering the fact that he had all the fine attributes I have always wanted in a man; gentle, loving, intelligent, brave, handsome, neat, and very domestic (lol). And I had way beyond the qualities he was looking for as he told me later.
We broke up for a year and later came back after which he proposed marriage. This came with a lot of family tension but he pressed on and set up a private proposal. I escorted him to his hotel room a night before he travelled out of Lagos on one of his visits and he knelt down to ask me to share the rest of his life with him and be the mother of his kids and I said ‘Yes’ amidst tears and emotions because it’s been a long and tough walk in our relationship.
Our Wedding Day
The wedding was a huge success; our guests had amazing fun also considering that the bride was the event planner. I coordinated most of the wedding and delegated work to my friends who were very much helpful. My husband also made sure everything went well as planned. We are glad all our efforts paid off.
Wedding Planning Tips from the Couple
It is usually good to start planning early. This will enable you to weigh your options and choose the best vendors for your big day. Vendors play an important part in a wedding and selecting the ones that perfectly fit well into your budget is extremely important.
Also, if you are planning your wedding with your spouse or family members, try to delegate duties to responsible individuals who we go all the way out to help you achieve your dream wedding. Remember to have as much fun as possible and do make it a memorable event for you, spouse and all the invited guests.
WDN wishes Chioma and Tejuone a blissful and blessed marital life together forever.
