We all know what Aso-ebi means. Just a reminder, Aso-ebi is translated to “family cloth”. It is referred to as outfits made from matching fabrics worn by group of people to a party, wedding, naming ceremony, funeral etc. There is literally no event without Aso-Ebi to go with it in recent times. In the past Aso-ebi was usually worn only by our Mums usually in lace fabrics and we’d never got to wear them simply because they were only sewn in the same Iro and Buba style all the time. But today, the Aso-ebi fashion trend has transcended beyond just lace fabric, as we now have variety of laces in popping colors and other fabrics to choose from. Thankfully for us, the fashion designers have also broken through the Iro and Buba trends, placing a bit of tulles or sequins here and there and wrapping it like sarong. Lots of creativity!
There is just no limit literally to how imaginative and diverse you can go with spicing up your Aso-Ebi styles.
Hence, selecting a style or fabric for your Aso-Ebi is usually has always been a challenge and we at WDN has decided to put an end to that dilemma as we bring you beautiful photos of styles and fabric that will make you drool. Be inspired!
