Kehinde Bankole is a belle in this new photos to celebrate the Edo Bride in another form!
Read what the stylist Gbenga Dada says about the style shoot…….
Been a non-conformist, I get easily bored with convention. Many times, I just tolerate convention in my work so the company won’t go bankrupt ? (Nigerians are not very adventurous and there is only a handful who are daring enough to go against the norm.)
While preparing for this campaign and I decided I was going to do the Edo bridal look, I asked a question: Who insisted that every Edo bride must wear a beaded cape, beaded crown, layers of chunky coral and tie velvet wrapper around their chest? No answer. We then went ahead to break this traditional rule- styling a beaded cape as a waist accessory on this gorgeous outfit from @cynthiamichaelsfashion that @gbengaayodada re-styled as a strapless dress (will share a picture of the original dress later.) The end result: a redefinition of the Edo bridal look. Screen siren, @_kehindebankole made the perfect muse.
