We are happy to share with you their lovely trad pictures which is warmly rich in culture & absolutely glamorous too.
Coincidentally, June 6, the day of the traditional wedding, was also the bride’s dad’s birthday, and after cutting the cake, the happy guests with the couple sang happy birthday for him during the ceremony. They all had every reason to be joyous.
On June 6, we had a traditional Igbo ceremony at my parents’ home. I did the whole searching for the man I want to marry with (what should be) a cup of palm wine. He was hiding while different men begged me to give them the wine. I found Abi, kneltdown, gave him the wine, brought him to my parents to get their blessing, then emerged as husband and wife wearing traditional Kalabari attire. Towards the end of the ceremony, I was cloaked with silk George material by his mother and aunt and given 2 new Kalabari names: Belema and Ibiye. His aunt was now named my new mother and his mother was now my grandmother. That moment was so special to me and I cried while trying to thank everyone for celebrating with us and accepting me as their new daughter.
We wish the couple a very happy & fruitful marital life together forever
