Gloria and Daniel met at a time when they weren’t expecting to fall in love. The two boarded the same bus for a leisure trip out of Lagos and sat next to each other in the bus. Would you say it was love at first sight for the lovebirds.

Our Love Story
On the 14th of July 2011, I decided to take a leisure trip and visit a friend in P.H. Left home very early so I could board the first bus. On reaching the park and paid for the bus fare, I had an hunch 2 leave and use another transport company. Was thinking on how to go about it and fortunately for me, someone came by and wanted a seat and I sold my space and left.
Getting to the other transport company, I was at ease. I noticed a handsome guy and in my mind’s eye, I sized him up and wondered where he was gonna sit and who he will be sitting with.
Well, the journey began, we got to sit together (I was kabashing all along) but he had an earpiece & I had counted it a boring trip after all. Later, I heard someone say something (**only for my ears only**) and I laughed so hard then we exchanged pleasantries and got talking and it was like we had known each other for a long time.
The journey progressed and we became fast friends. Finally, we got to Ph and exchanged contacts. That birthed our relationship and the rest as they say is history.
Had earlier booked a flight to Port Harcourt from Lagos for the 14th of July 2011, but on the night that preceded the flight day, I thought to myself ; why rush into Port harcourt traffic and spend hours before getting to my destination afterall I am going on a leisure trip. So that morning, I canceled my flight and decided to go by road.
On getting to the bus station, I was the last person left for the bus to move and as I got into the bus, I saw a lady drop from a taxi and walk into the station. And we occupied the two remaining sits and the bus was ready to leave and I put on my headset, leaned back and closed my eyes as we embarked on the long ride.
Now the driver was playing his music so high that it interfered with the audio bible I was listening to from my device so I had to turn it off. The music was kind of boring so I turned to my seat neighbor and said something funny and she smiled and we picked up from there and flowed (talking about everything and anything you can think of and more) as if we had know each other since childhood, keeping nothing back.
The Beautiful Proposal:
I got employed in the company he worked for and began going to all the fieldwork. During the line of duty, at a forest in Onne, Rivers State, he said a lot of things. But the one that stuck was “Will You Marry Me”? I thought he was kidding but he said when we get to Abuja, I will have the ring. I thank God for how far he has led us. I am happy I took that decision because I haven’t had any reason to regret it and going forward, I know I won’t.
That marked the beginning of a friendship anchored on genuine and effective communication that culminated three years later, in a mangrove forest in Onne with the creek oozing and the birds whispering in the background, with… WILL YOU MARRY ME? And a BIG YES!!!! Oh, I almost forgot, a week before then, in a hotel in Owerri .
