As told by the Bride:
Ours was that of “Student/Teacher” Love!
I woke up super excited on Monday 6th Of June 2016 as it was a day that ushered me to another step in the fulfillment of my dream of Becoming a legal Practitioner.
We ( I and some colleagues) had been posted to Fedude Zimughan and Co for a compulsory 6 weeks internship as part of the requirements for Call to the Prestigious BAR.
We stepped out all set to make a lasting first impression amidst mixed feelings.
On arrival, we met the Principal, associates, and paralegal. Did I mention there was this tall, dark and Handsome Lawyer, he was introduced as Emmanuel Smart Esq. (The Associate in charge of interns).
Learning under his tutelage was everything any student would wish for. We had the play time, gist time and most importantly study time.
6 weeks went by and it was time to leave. However, we didn’t just leave with knowledge but we gained a new family and most importantly I gained a personal Tutor ( my legalpedia). He was and still is my one call away for Legal matters. Little did I know my dearest Senior Smart had much more than “lesson Uncle” in his head.
Fast forward to 2nd September 2016, Senior Smart after forming Lesson Uncle for almost 4 months let it loose “Princess, I am tired of dating. I want something serious in my life, please I need you in my life”. Wooooow woooow woooow could this be true or this uncle needs payment for “lecturing services”. In the midst of my doubts, I decided to give it a trial.
20 months down the line (12th May 201), the bigger question was popped at about 2.15 am ” Sweetest, would you please spend the rest of your life with me??” You sure know I said a BIGGER YES than I said on the 2nd of September 2016. 😁😁😁😁😁😁
I started out calling him Senior Smart, then Smart, then Babe, and then Favourite but the Best part of the story is in a few days I would call him “My Husband”. According to my short friend Adaora Nwaka, ” Your parents sent you to school and you went to look for love” Yea I set out to look for one certificate but here I am about to get a 3rd certificate and I think about 4 more from my beloved “Yenagoa, Bayelsa State”.🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
As told by the Groom:
Doing what I do best (Teaching) led me to the love of my life/paw-paw headed sweetheart.
The 6th day of June 2016 was an eventful day for me, as I received a fresh batch/crop of students from the Nigerian Law School posted to the Law firm I work.
At first sight, I was captivated by her beauty (shiny forehead with chunky teeth) and thereafter finding out she was a pistol who had a desire to prove herself, got me hooked.
Having gained a reputation for being troublesome and a ladies man, I decided to keep my feelings in check until she concluded her Bar Exams.
My Patience paid off as she said Yes to me on the 2nd day of September @ about 10:45 pm and the rest is history.
